Itineraries
Day 1
ARRIVE ATHENS
On arrival in Athens, you will be met and transferred by our local representative to your hotel.
In the evening, enjoy Athens by Night tour (operated only on Tue/Wed/Thu/Sat).
Begin with a short panoramic drive through the City Center and at the slope of the sacred hill you will be able to see, admire and photo the illuminated Acropolis. Then a pleasant walk through the narrow picturesque streets of Plaka, the old city, will bring you at a Typical Greek Tavern where you will enjoy your dinner following a floor show with live music and Greek Folk Dances in traditional costumes. Overnight in Athens.
Day 2
ATHENS
This morning enjoy Athens City Tour.
See the Panathenaic Stadium where the first Olympic Games of modern times were held in 1896. Continue and pass by the Temple of Olympian Zeus, the Hadrian’s Arch, the Parliament and the memorial to the Unknown Soldier, the Academy, the University, the National Library, the Constitution Square. On the Acropolis visit the Architectural Masterpieces of the Golden Age of Athens: The Propylaea, the Temple of Athena Nike, the Erechtheion and finally “the harmony between material and spirit”, the monument that “puts order in the mind”, the Parthenon. Continue and visit the place where at last the statues found their home and admire the wonders of the classical era: The new Acropolis museum. Overnight in Athens.
Day 3
ATHENS - OLYMPIA
Today, you will travel by the coastal road to the Corinth Canal (short stop).
Continue on drive to visit the Theatre of Epidaurus famous for its remarkable acoustics. Onto the town of Nauplion (short stop), followed by a drive to Mycenae where you will visit the Archaeological Site and the Tomb of Agamemnon. Journey through Central Peloponnese and the Towns of Tripolis and Megalopolis to arrive into Olympia, the Cradle of the Olympic Games. Check into your hotel. Overnight in Olympia.
Day 4
OLYMPIA - DELPHI
This morning, visit the archaeological site with the Temple of Zeus, the temple of Hera, the altar of the Olympic flame, the Stadium and the museum of Olympia.
Drive via Patros to Rion, cross the Corinthian bay by ferryboat to Antirion. Pass by picturesque Nafpaktos and from there on, via the scenic coastal road to Delphi. Later, visit the picturesque mountain village of Arachova. Overnight in Delphi.
Day 5
DELPHI - KALAMBAKA
Following breakfast, you will visit the archaeological site and the museum at Delphi.
Depart for Kalambaka, a small town situated at the foot of the astonishing complex of Meteora, gigantic rocks. Overnight in Kalambaka (Meteora).
Day 6
KALAMBAKA (METEORA) - ATHENS
Enjoy morning visit to the ageless monasteries perched high atop the huge rocks of Meteora.
Drive back to Athens via Trikala, Lamia and passing by the monument of Leonidas at Thermopylae. Overnight in Athens.
Day 7
DEPART ATHENS
Today, you will be transferred to the airport for your flight back home. END OF SERVICES
