Day 1
ARRIVE ATHENS
On arrival in Athens, you will be met and transferred to your hotel.
Experience the full magic of Athens by night with panoramic evening tour, with an enjoyable Greek dinner show included. Begin with a short panoramic drive through the city center and on the slopes of the sacred hill you will be able to see, admire and take photos of the illuminated Acropolis. Then a pleasant walk through the narrow picturesque streets of Plaka, the old city, will bring you at a Typical Greek Tavern where you will enjoy your dinner following a floor show with live music and Greek Folk Dances in traditional costumes. Overnight in Athens.
Day 2
Your Plan
This morning discover some of Greece’s greatest treasures and the best of modern Athens on a half day City tour. This tour gives the opportunity to observe the striking contrasts that make Athens such a fascinating city. See the Panathenaic Stadium where the first modern Olympic Games were held in 1896 (short stop). Continue and pass by the Temple of Olympian Zeus, the Hadrian's Arch, the Parliament and the Monument of the Unknown Soldier, the Academy, the University, the National Library, the Constitution Square (Syntagma). At the Acropolis you will visit the architectural masterpieces of the Golden Age of Athens: The Propylaea, the Temple of Athena Nike, the Erechtheion and finally “the harmony between material and spirit”, the monument that “puts order in the mind”, the Parthenon. Continue and visit a must-see in Athens, the place where finally the statues found their home and admire the wonders of the classical era: The New Acropolis Museum, voted by the Sunday Times as the 3rd best museum of the world.
Later explore toys through the centuries at Benaki Toy Museum . The Benaki Toy Museum recently opened to the public, offering visitors a unique journey throughout the centuries. NOTE: Open Thu, Fri, Sat & Sun from 10:00 hrs – 18:00 hrs. Overnight in Athens.
Day 3
ATHENS – MYKONOS
This morning, transfer to Piraeus pier for your ferry to Mykonos. Arrive Mykonos as you are transferred to your hotel. The rest of the day is yours to explore the most famous of the Cycladic Islands. Overnight in Mykonos.
Day 4
MYKONOS
Today visit one of the most important archaeological sites of Greece :the ancient sacred island of Delos! Only a 45 minute boat ride away from Mykonos is Delos, which was the centre of the Cyclades of the ancient world, the island of light, birthplace of Apollon and Artemis, home to the first multicultural civilization and trade. Explore the sacred ruins and archeological finds at Delos’ main excavation site. Overnight in Mykonos.
Day 5
MYKONOS – SANTORINI
This morning you will be transferred to ferry pier for ferry to volcanic island of Santorini. Santorini is regarded by many as the most spectacular Greek island, Santorini boasts ancient rock formations, raw lava-layered cliffs, and beautiful black sand beaches.
The rest of the day is at leisure to admire the spectacular caldera with white washed houses perched on the edge, created by the eruption of the islands’ volcano in the ancient times. Overnight in Santorini.
Day 6
SANTORINI
Get away from the crowds on Santorini with day-long cruise around three small volcanic islands nestled in Santorini’s natural harbour on boat tour of Caldera – Oia (Volcano–Hot Springs–Thirassia–Oia–Sunset). Sail with traditional wooden boat kaiki to the volcano. Climb up approx. 30 min. and explore dramatic rocky scenery (1.5h). Chance to swim on the hot springs (30 min) – the boat stops approx.. 70meters from the hot springs area. You need to be able to swim this distance & back. Swimming is at your own responsibility. Later visit Thirassia, Fisherman Island, free time for lunch (on own) or swimming (1.5h). Lastly see Oia - climb up 200 steps to reach the top of the village; free time to enjoy the most beautiful sunset. Return from Oia by bus after sunset. Overnight in Santorini.
Day 7
SANTORINI – ATHENS
This morning you will be transferred to Ferry terminal for ferry back to Athens. Upon arrival, check into your hotel. The rest of the day is free. Overnight in Athens.
Day 8
DEPART ATHENS
Today, you will be transferred to the airport for your flight back home.
